Real People, Real Experience

We're not financial theorists or corporate consultants. We're small business owners who've been exactly where you are right now—staring at spreadsheets at midnight, wondering if there's enough cash to make payroll next week.

Our Story Started Small

Like most good things in business, carithonevo began with a problem we couldn't ignore and a solution that grew organically from real experience.

2018

Started with three small business owners in Perth sharing spreadsheets and cash flow strategies over coffee. We'd all made expensive mistakes and wished someone had taught us the basics earlier.

2020

During the lockdowns, we moved our informal meetups online and discovered dozens of other business owners facing similar challenges. Our simple spreadsheet templates became proper educational resources.

2022

Formally launched carithonevo after helping over 200 small businesses improve their financial management. We realised we'd accidentally built something that filled a real gap in practical business education.

2025

Now supporting hundreds of Australian small businesses with practical finance education, but we've kept the same approach—real experience, practical tools, and honest conversations about money management.

Meet the Team

We're the people behind carithonevo—small business owners who learned financial management the hard way and decided to share what we've figured out.

Sarah Kellerman, Co-founder

Sarah Kellerman

Co-founder & Education Director

Sarah ran a successful catering business for eight years before realising she was better at teaching finance than making sandwiches. She's the one who turns complex financial concepts into spreadsheets that actually make sense. Her approach comes from managing seasonal cash flow and dealing with suppliers who always wanted payment upfront.

Marcus Thorvaldsen, Co-founder

Marcus Thorvaldsen

Co-founder & Operations Lead

Marcus spent twelve years running a construction business before discovering he had a talent for explaining budgeting and forecasting. He's seen every cash flow problem you can imagine—from clients who pay late to suppliers who raise prices without warning. His teaching style focuses on building systems that work when business gets chaotic.

How We Actually Work

These aren't corporate values we put on the wall. This is genuinely how we approach business finance education, based on what we've learned works in real situations.

Practical First

Every technique we teach comes from real business situations. We don't cover theoretical concepts that look good in textbooks but fall apart when your biggest client is three months behind on payments.

Honest About Limits

We're upfront about what financial management can and can't do. Good budgeting won't save a fundamentally broken business model, but it will help you spot problems before they become crises.

Built for Small Business

Our methods work when you're the person doing the books, managing staff, and dealing with customers. We understand you don't have time for complex systems that require dedicated financial teams.
